Beck
Whoever knows that this body is like foam and has learned that its nature is a mirage, will break the flourishing arrows of Mara and never see the king of death.
Buddharakkhita
Realizing that this body is like froth, penetrating its mirage-like nature, and plucking out Mara’s flower-tipped arrows of sensuality, go beyond sight of the King of Death!
Davids
Like unto foam if you have wot this body, as mirage-thing well understanding it, the flower-tipped darts of Mára breaking off, you may go where the death-king sees you not.
Kaviratna
Recognizing this corporeal body to be evanescent as foam, comprehending this worldly nature as a mirage, and having broken the flower-arrows of Cupid (Mara), the true aspirant will go beyond the realm of the Evil One.

He who knows that this body is like froth, and has learnt that it is as unsubstantial as a mirage, will break the flower-pointed arrow of Mâra, and never see the king of death.
