Krishnamurti Study PageIt’s an interesting little story that Krishnamurti uses in Selection 1 to illustrate the problems of being attached to our views and to being constantly stuck in the future. The three subjects of the story, while coming from different positions, have each become obsessed with their future, with themselves. And in this, they have sacrificed something greater, something so precious – this moment, right now. But it is so easy to get caught up in the future, in the hopes and plans of tomorrow, thinking that then things will be perfect, be better, finally. However, it’s not real, it’s an illusion. The ‘now’ has greater significance than the future. Being, living of the highest quality, is always in the present and being right now is also the highest form of transformation and it is possible only in the present, only in the ‘now’ moment.
