We have been blessed over time with some enlightened individuals who have shared with us everything that we need to know to make our way down the Spiritual Path. These teachings, this timeless wisdom, is our ‘Noble Heritage’ and this is the meaning of the Páli word ‘ariyavansa’, which is also my given Spiritual name.

THE Teachers of mankind are few. A thousand years may pass by without the advent of such a one; but when the true Teacher does appear, the distinguishing feature by which he is known is his life. His conduct is different from other men, and his teaching is never derived from any man or book, but from his own life. The Teacher first lives, and then teaches others how they may likewise live. The proof and witness of his teaching is in himself, his life. Out of millions of preachers, one only is ultimately accepted by mankind as the true Teacher, and the one who is thus accepted and exalted is he who lives. The supreme aim of all religions is to teach men how to live.

The Teachers of this study include the Buddha, of course, both his Discourses and the Dhammapada as well as Lao Tzu, both of about 2500 years ago. This exploration also includes more recent teachers, Krishnamurti and Nisargadatta, both of last century India. And, a little earlier from England, we have the very inspiring James Allen. I believe that the wisdom found within their teachings are more then enough to provide the tools for anyone to be their very best and to experience the highest quality of life. To round out this exploration, we also will be exploring the practical aspects of the Spiritual Practice. I sincerely hope that you will join me on this journey and that you will give these teachings your serious consideration – they are powerful and life transforming.

Each day I take a selection of one of those individuals and use it as a part of my studies and practice. I consider it, contemplate it and try to use it in my life. I also share my thoughts about it in the Journal. The Study Pages within the individual Projects are directly related to the Entries in the Journal. As we consider something new within one of the Projects, I’ll speak of it in the Journal. I hope that you will consider the Study Page as well, and share your thoughts on it there or add your comments to the Journal entry. In either case, I hope to hear from you.
